Metronome Capture™ systems establish a common, passive data capture and processing platform for real-user clickstream traffic
that can be used for a multitude of applications. The Metronome Capture platform is being used by solutions developers and integrators
to give them highly accurate, reliable and cost-effective data collection for a wide range of solutions.
Metronome Capture systems capture and reassemble your network packets into complete web conversations, and then analyzes them from the end-user's point-of-view. Your traffic is analyzed at both the protocol and content layers, giving you access to important performance, user interface and application layer metrics.
Metronome Capture systems support a multitude of standard protocols for simple integration with custom and third party products. The technology provides a strategic advantage to solutions developers by ensuring highly usable data is collected in the most cost-effective and reliable way possible.
To maximize flexibility and scalability, Metronome Capture consists of two distinct software components, Metronome Collector and Metronome Focus. Metronome Collector collects raw packet data off the wire and reassembles it into web hits. These hits are then streamed in real-time to Metronome Focus where they are sessionized, filtered, and aggregated into more manageable data that is then used to feed external applications.
Metronome Collector handles the low-level collection and reassembly of web traffic into hits. The reassembled hits are then streamed to a socket for further processing.

- Packet Collection: Metronome Collector collects raw packets from your network using a one-way network tap so it has no impact on your website.
- Security: Metronome Collector sits behind your firewall on a one-way network tap that makes it impossible for hackers to access the system from the internet.
- SSL/TLS Decryption: If your web traffic is encrypted, Metronome Collector will decrypt it for processing.
- HTTP Hit Reassembly: Metronome Collector reassembles raw packet data into HTTP Request and Response pairs, the basic unit of web traffic.
- Scalability: Multiple Collectors can be clustered to handle the massive volumes of traffic generated by the web's largest sites.
- Streaming Output: Reassembled traffic is streamed by network socket for further processing by external applications.
Metronome Focus is a full-featured sessionization and data processing engine used to process the hit stream generated by Metronome Collector. Focus allows you to save only the data you care about while not drowning in the information you don't need. Metronome Focus provides an array of methods to store and access your data, allowing it to integrate into the IT infrastructure of your business in the manner most useful to you.
